+ What are Anti-Wrinkle treatments and how do they work?

Everyday facial expressions such as frowning, laughing and lifestyle factors such as pollution and smoking will make the muscles on your face contract, which over time will appear more noticeable. When Botulinum Toxin (also known as Botox®) is injected into a specific muscle it blocks the signal from the nerve to the muscles in the face, as this is not a permanent solution the treatments will need to be repeated every 3-4 months on average depending on response.

After treatment, the lines and wrinkles will not appear on your skin or around the area which has been treated, looking smooth. Our anti-wrinkle injections will allow the untreated areas of your face to move as free as normally.

+ What is the process of Anti-Wrinkle treatment?

Firstly, a fully qualified practitioner will check through your medical history and current medical status to ensure if you can or cannot have treatment due to any medical reasons. The procedure of the administrating will be performed by the practitioner. They will wipe your face clean, where multiple small injections will be given just under the skin. You will feel a little discomfort, however the needle will be extremely fine and very small amounts of liquid will be administered in and around the targeted area. Slight tingling can be expected for a few seconds after administration.

So that you may get used to the procedure, we would advise you to receive the treatment on one area at a time. After the treatment is complete you may ask any questions you may have about after care or further treatment.

+ Who should not get Anti-Wrinkle or Dermal Filler treatments?

You should not have treatment if:

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • If you have diseases that affect muscle activity (E.g. Myasthenia Gravis)
  • You have a history of Bell’s palsy this may affect the dosage that is used
  • If you have any bleeding disorders or are taking drugs that affect bleeding time (Warfarin, Clopidogrel)
  • If you are taking certain antibiotics such as Gentamycin, your practitioner may advise against treatment

+ Are the results permanent and what is the aftercare procedure of Anti-Wrinkle treatment?

The results are not permanent, the effect of the treatment will last from 3-6 months. We would advise on having 3 or more treatments per year to prevent the appearance of wrinkles. However, depending on response, overtime treatment may not be needed on a regular basis as lines and wrinkles will remain smoother for longer.

After the treatment, we would advise you to use your facial muscles to allow the treatment to take full effect, showing results quicker. However, things to avoid are gym workouts, sauna and steam rooms for 24 hours, and you must not touch the treated areas for at least 4 hours after treatment to avoid the treatment spreading to other areas of the face. We would also advise you to refrain from drinking alcohol for the 24 hour period as alcohol can affect the treatment. You may go back to your normal day to day plans such as work and it will also not effect you if you need to drive or commute anywhere.

As we offer a free of charge two week follow up to check the progress of your treatment, you may discuss any worries you may have then or at any time by contacting us by email (contact@cosmetichem.co.uk).

+ When will I see the results of Anti-Wrinkle treatment?

You will see results 4-7 days after the treatment, this usually depends on each patient and full effects may take up to 2 weeks to be seen. As we offer a 2 week follow up after treatment, we will assess the results and at that point advise when further treatments should be done.

+ What are Dermal Fillers and how do they work?

Fillers are popular treatments used for softening wrinkles, laughter lines, facial lines and wrinkles caused naturally by ageing or other factors.

Popular areas to add volume and fullness include the lips, marionette lines and naso-labial lines for smoothing and plumping lines and reducing wrinkles. The substance used is found naturally in the human body. Dermal fillers are injected into the skin to give your face a natural volume, leaving your skin completely hydrated and youthful.

At The Cosmetichem Clinic, every client seeking dermal filler treatment is given an in-depth consultation that examines which areas would be most beneficial and which area would meet patient expectations.

To ensure you may get used to the procedure, we would advise you to receive the treatment on one area at a time. After the treatment is complete you may ask any questions you may have about after care or further treatment.

+ What is the process of Dermal Fillers treatment?

Using an ultra-fine needle, small amounts of dermal filler are injected directly into the skin. After cleansing the area to be treated, a numbing cream will be applied. This ensures the injections administered by the qualified practitioner will only cause minor discomfort.

The gel administered helps to plump up the skin to smooth out lines and wrinkles. If the lips or facial contours are being treated, the filler adds volume, restores shape and gives a fuller appearance.

Our clinic is well-equipped and regulated, so you may feel safe and secure during the process of the treatment. If you are not satisfied with the amount of dermal filler which is injected then the treatment is completely reversible.

+ Are the results permanent and what is the aftercare procedure after having the Dermal Fillers treatment?

This treatment will let you carry on with your day to day activity as the results are instant and as the results are not permanent. The effect of the treatment will last from 4-6 months.

We would advise on having 3 or more treatments per year to prevent the appearance of wrinkles. However, depending on how the treatment will effect each patient, overtime treatment may not be needed on a regular basis as lines and wrinkles will remain smoother for longer.

After the treatment, we would advise you to avoid gym workouts, sauna and steam rooms, as you must not touch the treated areas for at least 4 hours after treatment to avoid the filler spreading to other areas of the face. You may go back to your normal day to day plans such as work and it will also not effect you if you need to drive or commute anywhere.
